India, April 20: April 10th is celebrated as World Homeopathy Day to mark the birth anniversary of the Founder of Homeopathy, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann.

Very few would know that Homeopathy is the 2nd largest system of medicine in the world (as per WHO). Also, very few would know that is in fact Doctor Hahnemann who coined the word Allopathy (today the largest system of medicine globally).

Homoeopathy is practiced legally in over 100+ countries globally and there are more than half a million certified & qualified homoeopaths across the world.

Each year more than 20000 to 25000 new Homeopaths are certified. That also makes it one of the largest growing systems of medicine.

India alone has over 300K + Homeopaths and 250+ Colleges offering Homeopathy Courses & Degrees and 15000 to 20000 Homeopaths successfully complete a 5.5 year BHMS Degree Course.

The Indian homeopathic industry is estimated to be north of $3Billion USD and the global industry is pegged at $5Billion USD. USA & European markets alone are estimated to be around $1Billion USD each. The industry is estimated to grow at over 18% CAGR over the coming years.

The event hosted more than 27000 Users & 70+ Speakers with the theme of – Practical Homeopathy that can be applied to your daily practice. 1000s doctors from 50+ countries attended their live sessions.

The event saw participation from national & international schools, colleges, journals, associations and pharmacy/manufacturers. Schwabe, one of the leading global homeopathy medicine manufacturing companies ($1Billion of annual sales) was also seen participating as a knowledge partner.

The feather in the cap though was the Letter & Message of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that was received by Dr. Shah & his organization as a congratulatory greeting and a motivational message to all homeopaths across the world. He applauded the contribution of the homeopathic system of medicine and especially during the COVID 19 Pandemic.

The event was a grand success and one of the largest in scale, size and attendance which brought together 1000s of homeopathy physicians together. The event was also a curtain-raiser for Mission Success, a new program launched by Dr. Jawahar Shah to give back to the society by helping academic students with the correct skills, knowledge, tools, infrastructure and technological aids for becoming competent & confident homeopaths. Ayushman Bharat, e-Sanjeevini Service, CSC’s Rural Telemedicine Services and many other government-driven health programs have been successfully launched by the Modi Government. Modi has been a strong believer in Integrative Medicine wherein the citizens and masses at large should benefit from the best of both Modern & Traditional Systems of medicine. India is also the only country wherein a dedicated Ministry is in place for traditional systems of medicine – the AYUSH Ministry (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy). The government is also aiming at making AYUSH a part of the curriculum of MBBS courses in order to make modern medicine doctors know, adapt and apply the benefits of traditional medicine in their practice.
