Success Meet of “Maahi Tu” from Mayavi Laila: Guest Abu Malik Congratulates Aamir Shaikh and Rekha Bhanushali

New Delhi [India], February 21: The song Maahi Tu from the popular short film Mayavi Laila has been receiving immense appreciation from audiences, garnering millions of views on the Planet 9 channel upon its release.

A success press meet for the song, sung by singer-actor Aamir Shaikh and singer Rekha Bhanushali, was held at Krishna Studio in Mumbai. The event saw the presence of several team members associated with the song, along with chief guest Abu Malik. The short film Mayavi Laila features Aamir Shaikh, Javed Hyder, Sufiyan Kapadia, Ranjana Godara, and Shreya Shetty in key roles.

Aamir Shaikh, who made waves with his rap performance in the song, shared his thoughts with the media. He explained that Maahi Tu was initially a situational track in Mayavi Laila, but due to overwhelming audience appreciation, it was released separately—quickly amassing millions of views. He further elaborated that since Mayavi Laila revolves around a witch, the song required a bold and powerful voice, making Rekha Bhanushali the perfect choice. He credited Planet 9 for recognizing its potential and giving it an independent release.

Chief guest Abu Malik praised the song, stating, “Mahi Tu is an outstanding composition. Rekha Bhanushali and Aamir Shaikh have delivered a remarkable performance. I have always considered Aamir Shaikh a multi-talented artist—he is not only a great singer but also an exceptional actor. His dedication and passion for music are truly commendable. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the continued success of this song.”

Singer Rekha Bhanushali expressed her excitement and gratitude for the song’s success. She highlighted her distinct vocal style, which resonates deeply with listeners. She also acknowledged music composer Zakir Sadani and Aamir Shaikh for giving her the opportunity to sing on such a grand platform. “Aamir Shaikh and Zakir ji provided immense support during the recording process,” she added.

Maahi Tu

Lyricist and composer Zakir Sadani shared insights into the creative process behind Maahi Tu. He revealed that when initially asked to create a song for a witch-themed film, he found it challenging to conceptualize. After several attempts, Maahi Tu was finalized. While multiple singers recorded the scratch version, Rekha Bhanushali’s voice stood out as the best fit.

Planet 9 Productions presents Maahi Tu, composed by Zakir Sadani, with vocals by Rekha Bhanushali and Aamir Shaikh. The lyrics are penned by Zakir Sadani and Aamir Shaikh, with music produced by Pinnaki Roy. The song’s choreography is by Kausar Shaikh, and it is produced by A1 Music, with co-producer KK. The project has been released by Rani Indrani Sharma and Mann Gulati. The screenplay of Mayavi Laila is written by Amit Rajak.
