Skyward Bound: Sky Social’s Srishti Pragat Shines Among Global Women Leaders in the VV Visionaries Program

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 28: Amid the realm of powerful global leaders, a shining star has emerged from India, Srishti Pragat. With her empowering work at Sky Social, she has been selected as one of the fifty exceptional women for the distinguished VV Visionaries program. This prestigious initiative, presented by Vital Voices in partnership with the Estée Lauder Emerging Leaders Fund, brings together a tapestry of women leaders committed to creating a positive social impact.

Vital Voices, an organization rooted in global leadership with co-founders like Hillary Clinton, has a legacy of fuelling, expanding, and connecting women leaders who are catalysts for change. Over the years, their unwavering support has helped catapult leaders to high echelons, birthing Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, pioneering human rights defenders, and innovative social entrepreneurs, including luminaries like Malala Yousafzai.

The VV Visionaries program is a hallmark initiative that recognizes and supports women leaders from varied sectors and experiences who are on a mission to inspire change in their communities. This transformative program is designed to redefine leadership, break down gender stereotypes, and pave the way for a new wave of leaders.

Srishti Pragat, through her initiatives at Sky Social, has spearheaded efforts towards gender mainstreaming and social justice. She holds a strong academic foundation in Development Studies, with a specialization in Gender and Migration Studies from the renowned SOAS University of London. Pragat’s dedication to creating a gender-equal society is evident in her commitment to community service and fostering behavioral change.

Expressing her thoughts on this recognition, Pragat commented, “It is an immense honour to be recognized by an international organization like Vital Voices. This opportunity allows us to showcase our work from India on a global platform and share our journey with the world. I am thrilled to learn, grow, and collaborate with other talented women leaders through this program, amplifying our impact and extending our reach.”

Sky Social’s work spans diverse collaborations, including government departments, UNICEF, and Youth Ki Awaaz. Their efforts center around training communities, engaging stakeholders and strengthening capacities to dismantle patriarchal structures. Their collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism’s “Hunar Se Rozgar Tak” program has been particularly impactful, providing skill training to girls from tribal communities, thus enabling their economic independence.

Sky Social’s dedication to preventing gender-based violence and promoting gender mainstreaming has garnered significant accolades. They have been selected as a Youth Ki Awaaz Action Network Fellow and have received the prestigious Udita Award and the Strong Women Strong Society Award.

Pragat’s selection in the VV Visionaries program is a testament to her formidable leadership and commitment to societal change. It serves as a milestone not just for her but also for Sky Social, adding to their collective achievements and shining a light on their path towards creating a more equal and just society.
