Sarvajanik University Hosts Youth Conclave on Climate Resilience and Sustainable City

Surat (Gujarat) [India], September 18: On 16 September 2026, Sarvajanik University, under the aegis of Sarvajanik Education Society, organized a “Youth Conclave on Climate Resilience and Sustainable City” through its NSS and Community Club, in collaboration with UNICEF, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), UHCRCE, and the Child Friendly City Knowledge Centre.

Volunteers from R. L. Luthra Institute of Management, B.R.C.M. College of Business Administration, Shree Ramkrishna Institute of Computer Education and Applied Sciences, and K. P. Human Sarvajanik College of Commerce and Computer Applications, Surat, participated in the conclave and presented insightful and awareness-oriented projects on a wide range of environmental and sustainability-related themes.

The students explored important issues such as water conservation, groundwater management, water auditing, rainwater harvesting, water reuse and recycling, food security and waste management, the interrelationship between temperature, humidity and green cover, as well as vehicular usage, pollution, traffic management and sustainable transportation on campus.

Through PowerPoint presentations, posters, skits, surveys, interactive dashboards and awareness reels, the students showcased their research, observations and innovative SMART Solutions aimed at addressing local environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices.

The conclave provided a meaningful platform for young people to examine real-world environmental challenges, exchange ideas and develop practical solutions for building more sustainable communities. The initiative highlighted the active and meaningful role of youth in promoting environmental awareness, conserving natural resources, adopting sustainable lifestyles, and contributing to the development of climate-resilient communities.

Overall, the event served as a valuable platform for youth participation, knowledge sharing, innovation and community engagement, reinforcing the vision of creating a more sustainable, resilient and environmentally responsible city.
