During the coronavirus crisis, rich fats were common in foods. However, according to a new study, a higher dose of saturated fatty acids can affect a person’s concentration level. To this end, 51 women took the test after eating two types of food: one high in saturated fat, the other with similar foods, but made from sunflower oil.

Annelise Madison, the lead author, remarked: Most previous work on the causal effects of nutrition has focused on a period of time. And it was just one dish – it’s quite remarkable that we saw the difference. However, it should be noted that the diet prepared with sunflower oil contained a significant amount of dietary fat, although the saturation of the variety is low.

Mr Madison stated that since both foods were high in fat and potentially problematic, the cognitive effect of foods high in saturated fat could be even stronger compared to foods low in fat.

The women were subjected to a rigorous experiment in which they were fed fatty foods and encouraged to make careful observations. It was found that women consuming foods containing saturated fat were 11% less able to identify the stimuli they were looking for. Those who showed signs of stools also showed some irregularities in concentration, which generally indicates that their ability to react immediately decreases during this period. Their ability to hold attention during the 10-minute test has also decreased. Madison confirmed that women don’t perform well on a diet. When women have high levels of endotoxemia, it also knew the differences between meals, she said.

In the past, studies have shown that foods high in saturated fats cause inflammation throughout the body and brain. It’s the same with fatty acids. Fatty acids can interact directly with the brain. What it really shows is the power of interest-based deregulation, according to the main author.

The women involved ate three normal meals and even fasted half a day before each visit to the laboratory. This was done to reduce dietary changes and not to influence the psychological response to eating fatty foods. It was concluded that people who are worried about the general situation with COVID-19 and who use or eat high-fat foods find it difficult to concentrate.
