The signature event is held annually by Times Applaud, a notable Indian digital news portal, to recognize individuals, leaders & institution who initiates, advocate, or leave a powerful impression on people and society.

Clinical research is a section of medical and health research envisioned to yield knowledge and understanding of the human disease, its prevention, treatment, and promoting health. It is a study that involves interactions with patients, diagnostic clinical data or materials, or populations.

With an experience of 12 years in the global clinical research podium, Dr Mangesh Khadakban is a seasoned result-oriented executive with strong credentials. Specialized in five areas – Pre-Clinical, Clinical Research, Medical and Scientific Writing, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, Dr Mangesh is also professed with business development, fiscal management, and people management.

According to Dr Mangesh, “Clinical research is all about improving people’s lives. For example, a clinical researcher can change people’s lives by coming up with treatments for those severe diseases that had no cure earlier. In addition, their efforts can bring an end to the miseries of a patient.

One should choose this field only if one has a curious mind and is not afraid to face challenges. The field is rewarding but comes with a lot of responsibility. One has to ensure that the devices, medicines and other medical equipment you are generating are safe for use by the public and there are no harmful effects.”

The influential work being conducted by Dr Manges as a skilled investigator during the Covid-19 pandemic is exemplary. Dr Mangesh Khadakban’s contribution to understanding this novel virus and its physiology; and its possible impact upon the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment was unmatched. Soon after Covid-19 hit the country and the dreadful disease was spreading fast in the cities, Dr Mangesh wasted no time and developed a link where the live status of every patient could be notified through a central server and a designated app. This link was created to curb the rapid spread of Covid-19. Furthermore, he and his team started surveying Residents of multiple Municipal corporations in the Mumbai region by visiting every society and collecting data of each patient and their caregivers. They even managed to spread knowledge about the link through social communication. It significantly assisted the medical fraternity employed in the government’s healthcare facilities to track the coronavirus patients without increasing hospital enrolments easily. Dr Mangesh’s foresightedness and vision played a key role in this technological development to combat the pandemic.

Further during the second wave, the kind doctor served humanity and his fellow citizens. He teamed up & coordinated with numerous hospitals in different regions like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane to get covid sufferers proper medical support in terms of beds and oxygen cylinders. Apart from this, Dr Mangesh actively participated in a food distribution campaign and Covid related medical awareness camps. The healthcare professional and good human being never misses an opportunity to exercise all his social responsibility activities. Email: [email protected]
